The forest

Tentsmuir is the closest I get to a decent ride where I live. It’s a good mixture of gravel and single-track but flat as a pancake. However, I need to get the miles in to regain biking fitness and stamina after a too-long absence.

Most of what you see in these pictures are the trees planted in the early 20th century when much of Tentsmuir was planted with Scots and Corsican pine. You can tell this is a plantation by the way the trees are close together and growing tall and straight.

The forest is criss-crossed by drainage ditches which mostly prevent off-road exploration but occasionally yield a point of interest.
