Nature - Argentina, Brazil Iguazu Falls
Iguaza Falls
We visited these falls in November as part of a three-week trip to Argentina and southern Chile. As you might imagine, the area is a bit of a tourist trap but that did not detract from the sense of awe generated by them, especially when close up, which tended to be on the Argentinian side.
The close-up below was taken from the Argentinian side. The sense of power from the immense volume of water was a little frightening at such close proximity.
The buzzards pictured below were perching on an old, collapsed, section of walk-way. There are tens to hundreds of them soaring on the air columns above the falls. I tried in vain to capture one of them in the air.
